Storying Sheffied:
Everyday Spaces & Stories

Introduction
In collaboration with The University of Sheffield's project, Storying Sheffield by Professor Brendan Stone, and Learn for Life Enterprise, I conceptualised a blog series called Everyday Spaces & Stories.

"Storying Sheffield is a project based at the University of Sheffield about accessible and universal ideas such as narrative, storytelling, history, and the environment."
Purpose
The purpose was to interview people from B.A.M.E. community, refugees and asylum seekers on their everyday experiences. It was to understand the meaning of ‘home’.

Looking at the world through the lens of people who have experienced a cultural as well as geographical mix reminds us that a person is a story and a product of many worlds together.

Quotidian
-
How everyday things can be different from place to place.
-
A very normal life can be deeply nuanced and complicated.

Diversity
-
Little things are the most important influences directing a person’s diverse perspective and their view of the world.
-
Each person has their own world but they have something new to offer us, something new to teach.

Intersectionality
-
No matter who a person is and where they come from, whatever their reasons were for what happened in their lives. They are equally engaging in this vast world, and sometimes a merge of different worlds.
